LUNA Protein is the first high-protein bar for women that provides satiation with natural and organic ingredients. In under 200 calories, LUNA Protein has 12 grams of soy/whey protein and 3 grams of fiber to satisfy hunger. No, LUNA Protein is not a meal replacement bar. We realize women are busy and active and on those days, mealtime can get away from us. Sometimes LUNA Protein might be your best alternative to skipping a meal, but just try to follow it with something light like yogurt and a piece of fruit.
- Is LUNA Protein natural? Is it organic?

LUNA Protein is entirely natural. It contains no artificial sweeteners, high fructose corn syrup or trans-fats, and no ingredients sourced from genetically modified organisms (GMOs). LUNA Protein also contains 35% organic ingredients.
- Is LUNA Protein low-GI?

Yes, LUNA Protein bars are considered a “low glycemic” food due to the balance of carbohydrate, fat, protein, fiber, and portion size. Glycemic Index (GI) can be a great tool for fine-tuning the carbohydrate choices in your meal plan, but it shouldn’t be your exclusive consideration for whether or not to include certain foods in your daily meal plans.
- Does LUNA Protein contain vitamins and minerals? Why are these important for women’s health?

The LUNA nutrition promise is to provide nutrients women have a difficult time getting enough of, namely calcium, iron, folic acid and vitamin D. LUNA Protein also contains antioxidant vitamins A, C & E.

- Does LUNA Protein contain bioengineered (GMO) ingredients?

As part of our journey towards sustainability, Clif Bar and Company (LUNA’s parent company) is committed to sourcing ingredients that are not genetically engineered. We use strict protocols including careful sourcing practices and written certification from suppliers to ensure the ingredient meets our non GMO requirements.
- Can I eat LUNA Protein if I am allergic to wheat?

Although the LUNA Protein recipe does not include wheat ingredients, it is made in a facility that uses wheat in other items. The food manufacturing process is such that we cannot guarantee that trace amounts of wheat will never turn up in our products. As with any food allergy or intolerance, it is best to check with your doctor, if you have concerns about consuming certain foods or take the same precautions you do with all other pre-packaged and processed foods.
- Does LUNA Protein contain gluten? Can I eat LUNA Protein if I am a celiac following a gluten free

Chocolate Cherry Almond and Chocolate Peanut Butter flavors may contain gluten from the soy rice crisps which use barley malt extract. Only the Cookie Dough flavor does not contain gluten or any gluten-containing ingredients, although we have not verified that these ingredients do not contain traces of gluten. In the making of our food, we cannot guarantee that trace amounts of gluten will never turn up in our products. As with any food allergy or intolerance, it is best to check with your doctor.
- Is LUNA Protein vegetarian/vegan?

LUNA Protein is made with ingredients that do not contain animal products. However, it does include whey protein from dairy in the protein blend, so it cannot be considered vegan.
- Is LUNA Protein kosher?

Yes, LUNA Protein is certified Kosher by OU (Orthodox Union).
- How does LUNA Protein fit in to my diabetic meal plan?

LUNA Protein is a balance of protein, carbohydrate, and fat with less than 200 calories, making it an ideal snack food for in between meals. It is also low-glycemic and only 1.5 starch exchanges or servings.
A diabetic meal plan should include foods that provide a balance of carbohydrate, fat, fiber and protein. People with diabetes should consume foods with carbohydrates in moderation—smaller portions spread out throughout the day—to help keep blood sugar in check.
