The LUNA Pro Team

The LUNA Pro Team is three teams rolled into onepro mountain bike, pro triathlon and pro XTERRAand is the only all-women's team in the world to include internationally recognized mountain bikers, triathletes and XTERRA racers competing in the same uniforms for the same sponsors, across their respective disciplines. Six pro mountain bikers, three elite triathletes, and two XTERRA pros make up the LUNA squad.
#1 in the World in 2007
The LUNA Pro Team's mountain bikers finished 2007 as the number one ranked women's team in the world based on points awarded by the UCI* for results in international competition. Georgia Gould also held the world's number one individual ranking for a significant portion of the year. 2007 was also highlighted by 1-2-3 overall finishes in both cross-country and short-track disciplinesalong with victories in every single cross-country racein the U.S. National Mountain Bike Series.

On the multi-sport front, LUNA triathletes posted four top-five Ironman finishes, including two overall wins. It should also be noted that a LUNA athlete lead every Ironman the team participated in, including the Ironman World Championships, during 2007.
Shonny Vanlandingham was LUNA's lone representative on the XTERRA front in 2007 and did the team proud by finishing fourth in the XTERRA World Championships.
Always a favorite with the media, LUNA Pro Team members have been featured in the New York Times, USA Today, Denver Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Outside, Shape Magazine and Sports Illustrated. LUNA pros have also conducted interviews on ESPN, CNN, NBC, Fox and their local affiliates as they amass millions of impressions annually.
Beyond racing, the LUNA Pro Team also works closely with the Breast Cancer Fund (BCF), a San Francisco-based nonprofit working to raise awareness for and work towards the elimination of the environmental causes of breast cancer. The LUNA Pro Team promotes awareness for the BCF's mission by prominently displaying their logo on team uniforms, support vehicles and collateral, as well as generating financial support through annual auctions and fund-raisers.
