2008 LUNA Pro Mountain Bike and XTERRA Team
Pro Mountain Bike
In addition to being the #1 ranked women's team in the world, LUNA was voted the best Mountain Bike Team of 2007 by VeloNews. As it enters its seventh season, the LUNA squad has tallied more than 230 individual race wins, including an astonishing 27 National Championships.
LUNA's 2008 roster has been bolstered by the addition of Catharine Pendrel from Canada, a favorite to represent Canada at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Catharine joins U.S. and Czech Olympic favorites Georgia Gould and Katerina Nash, along with eight-time national champion, Chloe Forsman on LUNA's cross-country squad.
Marla Streb preserves the team's wild side as LUNA's sole downhill racer. Now a mother and a part-time racer, Streb plans to win the 2008 National Championships against competition young enough to be her daughter.
Although no longer racing full-time, Alison Dunlap will attend events with the LUNA Pro Team and its sponsors to conduct women's rides and clinics as the Pro Team's official ambassador and media liaison.
XTERRA
Shonny Vanlandingham remains with LUNA, but the three-time U.S. series champ has switched disciplines and will focus her 2008 efforts on XTERRA racing. Shonny is joined by 2006 XTERRA World Championship silver medalist, Danelle Kabush, on LUNA's newly formed Pro XTERRA squad. Vanlandingham and Kabush will compete in both XTERRA and mountain bike events including the Sea Otter Classic and selected National Mountain Bike Series races.
