Partners in Prevention

Did you know only 1 out of 10 women who have breast cancer have a genetic history of the disease?

What women put on and in their bodies can make the difference. We are proud to be supporting the Breast Cancer Fund (BCF) in their efforts to find and eliminate the environmental and other preventative causes of the disease.

Here are a few things we do to spread the word:

  • Pure Prevention Campaign – Raise awareness about the environmental causes of breast cancer and empower us all to live actively, healthy and well.
  • Five Easy Steps — Easy ways for everyday actions that can help reduce our risk:
    1. Create a healthy home
    2. Eat smart
    3. Safe beauty (join the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics)
    4. Get outside
    5. Join the campaign
  • LUNA Berry Almond – Created in honor of the Breast Cancer Fund, this bar’s loaded with disease fighting antioxidants like blueberries, organic red berries & almonds.

Through collaborations on promotions, event sponsorships, sampling and dedicated events (such as LUNAFEST and Team LUNA Chix), LUNA and BCF work together to let women know that breast cancer prevention IS possible.

Creating Healthy Homes

As moms ourselves we know that creating a safe home is one of the most important things we can do for our families.

Healthy Child Healthy World makes it easy to take action. They are a non-profit dedicated to protecting the children from harmful environmental exposures. They educate parents, support protective policies, and engage communities to make responsible decisions, simple everyday choices, and well-informed lifestyle improvements to create healthy environments where children and families can flourish.

Start with their 5 Easy Steps for a safer, greener, healthier life:

  1. Manage pest safely – avoid use of all pesticides and insecticides.
  2. Use non-toxic products, cleaners, body care and home furnishings.
  3. Clean up indoor air.
  4. Eat more organic and healthy food.
  5. Be wise with plastics.
