Michele & Taryn inspire me because, after their greatest tragedies, the deaths of their husbands, they created what they needed but hadn't found: a community of widows like themselves. Michele, through her Soaring Spirits Loss Foundation, created Camp Widow (campwidow.org); Taryn Davis founded the American Widow Project (americanwidowproject.org), "unifying the new generation of military widows."

You both have inspired me to be a strong, independent woman. My mother: for being hard on me when needed but always a source of comfort and strength; for raising me to be strong and able to support myself. You a true hero and inspiration to all. You are a two time cancer survivor Breast & Ovarian cancer currently fighting your 3rd battle with Ovarian cancer yet I never see you without a smile on your face. I know you are in so much pain yet you stay strong for us kids, I hope to one day be even 1/4th of the women you are because your strength and courage are unlike any other person I have ever seen.

To Sally Edwards,
Sally Edwards is a heart rate guru, ironman and now has been inducted into the hall of fame. At one of her heart rate seminars, she mentioned that she coaches teams for the Danskin Triathlon Series. She said she sure she comes in last place at each race, so no one else would. That was it for me! I signed up to be one of her coaches. I have coached a beginner womens team every year since 2004!
